Alexander Spendiaryan - 154
On November 1 it marked the 154th anniversary of Alexander Spendiaryan, the founder of Armenian classical symphonic music and a renowned composer.
After paying tribute at the composer’s grave, a traditional oath ceremony of the young “Spendiaryants” took place at his house-museum.
First-grade students of the A. Spendiaryan Specialized Music School (teacher: Meri Muradyan) took a symbolic oathin the composer’s memorial room — to uphold the honor of the Spendiaryan students.
According to tradition, this year the honor of playing the composer’s piano was given to first-grader Adriana Hakobyan (teacher: Mane Danielyan).
The event included welcoming speeches by Marine Otaryan, Director of the Composer’s House-Museum, and Susanna Mkrtchyan, Deputy Director of the Music School.
