THEATRE OF LAUGHTER
The achievements of the theatre are due to the talented highly qualified artistic company. During 79 years of its existence the theatre had verified successful activities not only in Armenia but also beyond its borders. “Yerevan Musical Comedy Theatre always had tried to cause laughter among people and always succeeded”. ORCHESTRA
The orchestra of the theatre is completed with high class musicians. Many of them had not only finished Conservatory , but themselves teach in musical institutions. Luckily all the conductors were talented musicians: Aram Ter-Hovhannessyan, Gurgen Karapetyan, Suren Charekyan, Grikor Varzhapetyan, Ispir Kharajanyan, Davit Yerznkyan, Levon Abrahamyan, Vilen Charchoghlyan, Yuri Davtyan. Today our conductors are Harutiun Arzumanyan and Kgren Lavchyan.
CHORUS
Yerevan Musical Comedy Theatre always had a high class chorus. The artists of the chorus always could play their “roles” beside the actors, could create characters. All this is due to the talented chorus leaders such as Lidia Prokofieva, Nadezhda Arazova, Vaghinak Chakmishyan, Grikor Sandaljyan Eduard Yesayan, Ruben Ayvazyan and now – Shushan Hovhannessyan. Being a high professional, she completed the chorus with high professional singers. Among them are soloists who can sing and play title roles in famous musical comedies. The chorus has its own concert program which includes not only Komitas’, Chukhajyan’s, Pucchini’s pieces, but also jazz and spirituals |
BALLET
In the history of Musical Comedy theatre, with the artistic company, chorus and orchestra, ballet dancers had their unique place. For many performances choreographic and folk dances were staged by such famous choreographers as Ilya Arbatov, Srpuhie Lisitsyan, Zareh Muradyan, Babken Ordoyan, Eduard Manukyan, Boris Obukhov, Vanush Khanamiryan, Anatoly Lebedev, Norair Mehrabyan, Bella Hovnanyan, Gagick Karapetyan. |
THE ACCOMPANIST
Rita Grikoryan is an excellent pianist and a very skilful musician. She works in Musical Comedy Theatre for many years.
She also plays piano concertos and accompanies the soloists. She helps them to prepare their musical pieces and to train their voices.
